The number of people who would say they have more than enough money is way down near zero. Money can’t buy happiness but it can sure buy just about everything else.
So why is that that when you tell people of the various ways to get help, to earn more money, they do nothing (unless it’s a hand out or lottery ticket)?
Why is it that some people, no matter what dire circumstances life places them in, fight back and work towards something meaningful and some resemblance of success, even if they have to scratch and claw one inch at a time.
Give some people a spoon and enough time and they’ll dig a mile long tunnel to get where they want to be. Give some people a bulldozer and they’ll never even start it up and try.
Why?
What I’ve learned recently is that you can’t give someone who needs more income, and makes it clear to everyone around that they do, a way to make additional income. They just won’t take action.
What am I talking about?
My wife and I belong to a network marketing company that makes incredible products. Unlike most network marketing companies, there are no parties and you don’t sell stuff to your friends and co-workers. You simply join the company, and if you want to make additional income you introduce people to the company. You can purchase the products without participating in the marketing aspect if you don’t want to. That’s it. That’s ALL THERE IS TO IT. Join the company and buy stuff you’re already buying in stores, replacing those products with products that are safer, healthier, work better, and in some cases are less expensive. Introduce others to the company and start earning bonuses and commissions. That’s it!
When we were introduced to the program we jumped on it – I saw it as an easy way to earn a little extra residual income. If we put some effort into it, a good amount of income. And we love the products. See link in my P.S. below.
You know what I learned? Those that really need to earn extra income WILL NOT DO IT, while those that don’t need the extra income will.
Jesus said the poor will always be with us. He knew what he was talking about!
But I’m not really talking about POOR people, those I could understand because they may not have the money to join and buy the products, etc. I’m talking about people with full-time jobs, people who already spend money on similar products every month.
They just won’t take any action to improve their life. They just talk. They just dream. They watch the drivel on TV.
This same issue permeates every facet of life. You hear politicians and TV personalities say we need better education to make “the good life” accessible to everyone. No, you can give some people all the education in the world and they’ll do nothing but live off the system and corrupt the system even more: while others get a modest education and do great things.
What do with do with this information?
If you market a product or service that caters to the “do nothings” then you tailor your marketing to them. Just don’t try to sell them anything where YOUR success or profit requires THEM doing ANYTHING other than buying your product or service… because they will never do it.
If you market a product or service that requires someone stepping up and taking action, such as an affiliate program or network marketing program, then you target people who are not in “need” of the results of that program, but rather have the “desire”, the “want”, and the “hunger” to achieve something.
Until next time,
Fred
